Mdluli Safari Lodge is the story of one man’s vision for the land, and for the Mdluli people. Today this land is significant for many reasons.
We invite you to be part of our story – a tale of the wonder and beauty of the Kruger National Park, the authentic charm of Siswati tradition, and a deep-rooted commitment to conservation.
The lodge is located inside the south-western region of the Kruger National Park, a 5 hour drive from Gauteng and accessible via a private road from Numbi Gate – the closest gate from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.
Accommodation
Relax in your luxurious tent. Savour meals around the open flames of the boma fire. Spot wildlife from the swimming pool, deck, restaurant, and bar. Enjoy Big Five game drives and walks with experienced guides. Mdluli Safari Lodge is a sustainable tourism initiative, and a proud partnership with the local Mdluli Community.
Luxury Tents
With oversized patios and views into the Park, your elevated tent and private patio is both spacious and indulgent, with all the amenities you’ll need for your stay with us. There is no better place for relaxation in the African bush.
Each of the custom-designed tents have en-suite bathrooms, and can comfortably sleep a family of four.
The use of canvas and natural timber materials gives each tent a true safari feel. The interior palette takes inspiration from the tones and textures found in the surrounding natural environment.
Activities
It is a privilege to wake up to the sweeping vistas of the Kruger National Park. There aren’t many other places on Earth more captivating. Whether you’re looking to spend all day at the pool for some much needed relaxation, or are the first-at-gate Kruger-devotee, we have it all on offer for you.
Sometimes the best sightings happen on bush walks or drives. Other times, you don’t even need to leave the lodge to catch some incredible sightings. That’s the beauty of Kruger – each day is your own adventure.
Game Drives
Experience Kruger however you choose – whether you prefer to venture out in your own car, join us on a morning bush walk, or embrace its beauty from the comfort of one of our raised vehicles with our experienced guides.
Guided bush walks are an incredible way to immerse yourself into the wild, and to experience the bush in the most up close and personal way. Feel free to engage with our experienced guides, they are sure to keep you entertained with exceptional knowledge on the Kruger Park as well as stories about their past experiences, all whilst tracking magnificent animals on foot. Please note: Bush walks need to be booked through our reservations team in advance.
No game drive is complete without taking time to slow down and celebrate the environment you’re in – stopping in the middle of the Park for coffee in the morning, or sundowners in the evening.
Dining
With a variety of beautiful settings in which to dine, Mdluli Safari Lodge offers you a delicious safari dining experience.
After your morning game drive or bush walk, we invite you back to the lodge to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in the restaurant, with views overlooking the Park. Lunch can be enjoyed at the open deck area, pool-side or in the restaurant.
Guests have the opportunity to enjoy dinner under the Africa night sky around the fire in our traditional boma. Please enquire ahead of your stay regarding boma dinners.
