Wilderness Jacana is set in the Jao Reserve, a true wetland area, which is ideal for the rare sitatunga, and abundant red lechwe. In the summer months when the inundation has receded, lechwe, tsessebe, and elephant are prevalent; while lion, and occasionally leopard, may be seen. Wildlife concentrations in this area of the Delta depend on water flow and volume, changing from season to season. A wealth of water birds can be seen; enthusiasts can spot Pel’s fishing-owl, African and lesser jacanas, as well as other ‘Okavango specials’ such as slaty egret, and African pygmy-goose.
Nkwahle Lodge is a fully air-conditioned holiday home in Kruger Park sleeping eight guests. There are four bedrooms all of which boast private en-suite open plan bathrooms with a bath, toilet basin and outdoor shower. Each room has a private patios and full HD TV’s with satellite channels. Guests can enjoy the comfortable living areas, dining areas, kitchen, sensory comforts and intuitive service. The living area extends to large covered patio with an outdoor dining table and braai facilities. Elephant Point is situated in a region renowned for its natural diversity and concentration of big game, and is undoubtedly one of the best game viewing areas in the Kruger National Park. In addition to elephants, you will see herds of buffalo, prides of lion, leopards and numerous antelope species. Elephant Point borders the Kruger National Park and is also neighbour to the World famous and exclusive Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The estate is a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg or 60 minutes from the Mpumalanga Kruger airport following a 45-minute flight from Johannesburg.
