An African safari allows you to connect to nature in all its forms. It is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of one of the world’s most beautiful and ecologically diverse landscapes. The Kruger National Park Game Reserve is world renowned as the home of the Big Five, but it contains hundreds of species of fauna and flora. Situated on the banks of the Olifants River, Pondoro Game Lodge is the perfect place to sit back, relax and become one with nature.
Safaris are often described as life changing and at Pondoro Game Lodge we pride ourselves on providing an experience that is both magical and unique to all our guests. Let us take care of your every need, as you become part of the age old African story unfolding before your very eyes. Expert rangers and trackers, led by Pondoro owner Robbie Prehn, conduct morning and evening game drives. Their intimate knowledge of the area adds a new layer of understanding to the experience, inevitably leading to a new appreciation of the wondrous plants and animals which surround.
Accommodation
At Pondoro Lodge you will have the opportunity to choose from 5 truly luxurious suites. All our suites are air-conditioned and offer modern comforts in an exquisite African setting. Each suite has a private patio, lounge area, an outside shower and Jacuzzi built into the wooden deck in front of the suites facing the river. Each suite offers complete privacy to compliment the romantic setting at Pondoro Game Lodge.
Pondoro Game Lodge has three tastefully designed chalets decorated in keeping with the African aesthetic and overlooking the Olifants River. All chalets have en-suite bathrooms (with a shower and bath overlooking the river), air-conditioning, mosquito nets and a wooden deck.
Safari
Pondoro Game Lodge offers Early morning game drives, Nature walks, Picnic lunches at the hide (book in advance), Birdwatching in camp and during game drives, Evening game drives with a spotlight and Treehouse Hide Sleepovers (at additional R2500 per night).
All game drives take place in open-top Safari Cruisers. As directed by Sanparks no more than 8 guests are allowed on our safari cruisers in order to minimize the impact on our environment and to provide the best possible safari experience for our guests. With no boundary fences between Balule Private Nature Reserve (50 000ha) and the Kruger National Park a great diversity of wildlife is found here.
