Makanyi Lodge opened its doors in June 2015 and we couldn’t be more excited! During the last 3 months we’ve already had the pleasure of welcoming many guests from all over the world who have celebrated with us and helped us inaugurate the lodge
Makanyi Private Game Lodge is located in the Timbavati, which has been dubbed as “The Place Where Something Sacred Came Down to Earth”. Indeed, Makanyi Lodge itself is a heavenly place and, what’s more, it couldn’t be better located. The Timbavati is an area of prime game viewing, home to the “Big Five” as well as the infamous, albeit elusive, White Lions. We are in the Greater Kruger National Park, an area of over 2.4 million hectares in which animals roam freely and, being one of very few commercial lodges in this area, it is a truly wild and private experience.
Luxury Suite
145sqm. Open plan flowing from bathroom to bedroom to lounge to deck. All suites have a terrace to relax and view the game which frequents the lodge grounds, and all have views of the permanent dam. Custom made furnishings, indoor& outdoor showers, free-standing bathtubs, lounge area with open fire for winter nights, sun loungers & day beds on the deck for lazy days, luxury bathroom amenities, mini bar & fridge, Tea & Coffee making facilities, ‘Nespresso’ coffee machine, WiFi and high speed internet access (bush technology permitting!), & in-room safe.

The Villa
The Villa is a 2-bedroomed private escape, ideal for small group of friends or couples travelling together. Not only is this beautiful villa set on its own away from the main lodge, offering ultimate privacy, it comes with its own private vehicle and guide for your daily game viewing pleasure. There is a large deck with swimming pool and private boma. Meals are taken at the main lodge, except for the boma evening and any special meals that guests require, on request. The two beautiful bedrooms, are both en-suite and there is a spacious lounge which opens out onto the main deck where you can while away the hours relaxing in the sun watching the game walk by your own private game viewing paradise.
