Overview
Klaserie Sands River Camp is part of an exclusive, privately-owned wildlife sanctuary, ‘Klaserie Private Nature Reserve’, which in turn is part of the Greater Kruger National Park
Klaserie Sands River Camp in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve lies to the west of the Timbavati covering 60 000 ha on either side of the Klaserie River. The private nature of this wilderness sanctuary enables one to embrace the African bushveld in one’s own time – to take in the sounds, sights and smells that make the bushveld such a unique experience.
The camps, Kitara, Nzumba and Nyeleti, are located in the north-western sector of the reserve, traversing 8 000 hectares with extensive access to the Klaserie River. Safaris within this untamed region of the Greater Kruger National Park focus on the bush and its eco-systems, with the added excitement of getting involved in the tracking of Africa’s big game.
Accommodation
Family Suite
The Family Suite consists of two interleading rooms, both with en-suite bathroom facilities. The master suite has a king size bed, with a ball and claw bath, outdoor and indoor shower, private water closet, and basin area in the en-suite bathroom. The children’s suite is a twin room with an en-suite bathroom including a shower, water closet and basin area. Both rooms have built in cupboards, mosquito nets, air conditioners, overhead fans, hairdryers, flyscreens on the sliding doors and a deck area overlooking the rim flow swimming pool and waterhole, frequented by breeding herds of elephant, buffalo and impala.
Guest Suites
There are two standard guest suites, both with en-suite bathroom facilities, consisting of a shower, basin area and water closet. Both rooms have built in cupboards, mosquito nets, air conditioners, overhead fans, hairdryers, flyscreens on the sliding doors and a private deck area complete with comfortable deck chairs, overlooking the African landscape. Elephant, buffalo, impala and kudu are regular visitors along the river banks, with extraordinary birdlife.
Honeymoon Suite
The honeymoon suite boasts a king size bed and is complete with en-suite bathroom, private deck and outdoor shower. The bathroom consists of a ball and claw bath, shower, basin area and private water closet. The honeymoon suite also has built in cupboards, mosquito net, air conditioner, overhead fan, hairdryer, flyscreens on the sliding doors and a deck area overlooking the African landscape and non-perennial Ntsiri River, frequented by elephant, buffalo and impala.
