Jabulani Safari

Explore the Wild: Discover the Beauty of the Kruger National Park

Overview

Located within a Big Five private game reserve in the Greater Kruger Park area, Jabulani, with its six superior suites and the exclusive Zindoga Villa, offers a unique opportunity for gracious living in a five-star luxury lodge.

Each spacious and elegant suite is luxuriously furnished and features both a private deck and a plunge pool. Children are welcome at Jabulani from the age of six and at Zindoga Villa at any age.

Jabulani is a place to indulge your every sense, a place to explore the African wild and reconnect with nature, experience amazing wildlife and enjoy superb cuisine.

Your dedicated Jabulani ranger will ensure that your safari experience is tailor-made to your personal preference, whether laid back and relaxed or filled with game viewing and other activities.

Learn about our inspiring journey that began with a herd of elephants being rescued nearly twenty years ago. Our devoted elephant carers share insightful stories of their life journeys with the Jabulani herd, whilst you have opportunity to respectfully observe the elephants during their daily routines – while they enjoy their midday swim, forage in the wild and return single file to their stables in the evenings.

What to Expect

It’s not every day that you get to go on safari. And choosing a safari lodge is about more than just game drives and a high thread count – it’s about the feeling it evokes in you, the memory that remains ingrained in your heart long after you’ve returned home. A Jabulani safari promises nothing but the best in luxury, but the highlight of your trip will no doubt be sharing a space with the gentle presence of our famous elephant herds.

Highlights

Superior Suite

6 Ultra-luxurious air-conditioned suites, en-suite facilities, hot beverage facilities and mini bar fridge, private plunge pools. Butler service. Includes all meals, snacks, beverages and local branded alcohol. Daily elephant excursions and game drives. We allow children from the ages of 6 years old to stay in the suites with their parents.

Zindoga Villa

The Zindoga Villa is specifically tailored to appeal to smaller groups or families with children of all ages and is sold as an exclusive unit. The two individual suites are connected by a joint lounge and dining area. Each unit has a massive bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, including glass enclosed shower, expansive wooden deck, and a private heated plunge pool. One of the suites also has a adjoining twin room, with private bathroom, for two children sharing. Younger guests can enjoy the Team Tusker programme specifically designed for them. The Villa is serviced by its own dedicated team – including a ranger and private vehicle, chef and butler.

Guided Bush Walks

The intrepid walker will take pleasure in experiencing a guided walking safari. Heading into the bush with an armed ranger, guests can learn more about the many different facets of the bush. From tracking spoor (animal prints left in the ground), to touching and examining trees and plants, to sitting quietly and simply absorbing the many smells, sounds and sensations of Africa in its most primitive glory – this is a safari in its purest form.

The lucky may encounter animals in close proximity on the Kapama Game Reserve, although great care is taken to ensure safe and respectful distances are always observed from the larger and more dangerous animal species.

It is recommended that walking during summer months is restricted to early mornings before the heat of the day fully sets in.

Walkers need not be fitness fanatics, as the pace is set around the guest.

Game Drives on the Big5 Kapama Reserve

The Kapama Game Reserve is home to a wide variety of wildlife including elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros, and large populations of giraffe, impala, blue wildebeest and kudu. Predators include lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena and many smaller species. Bird-watching is most rewarding and more than 350 bird species have been recorded, including the rare Gymnogeg and Knob-billed duck.

Guests join their ranger in his open safari vehicle for a game drive, and head out in search of The Big Five, and the smaller (but no less significant) creatures that are part of an African safari.

Jabulani Safari rangers are consummate professionals. Highly experienced in guiding, they are the perfect safari ambassadors while out in the African bush.

Safaris may be arranged at any time of the day. A word of warning though – the summer months are incredibly hot in the middle of the day! This time is best spent enjoying the cool respite of a private plunge pool, with a chilled refreshment in hand!
