The Boutique Amani Safari Camp was acquired in 1990 and has been cultivated to house guests in ultimate, under stated bushveld style.
The raw bush that surrounds Amani Safari Camp gives it an authentic, isolated atmosphere, allowing visitors to escape the hustle and bustle of city life entirely. In 2012, the Camp was washed away in a flood, and has been rebuilt to offer a true home away from home. Today, a dry riverbed separates the Camp from a frequently used watering hole, which lies adjacent to the extensive entertainment area and commonly attracts jackals, hyenas, warthogs and elephants.
Amani Safari Camp provides accommodation for eight guests, in a private and tranquil setting. The layout of this Camp is unique, comprising one house with a central living area and four en-suite bedrooms. The beds can be made up as one king bed per room, or two single beds. Each bedroom has its own private entrance and large windows provide access to remarkable views of the Nature Reserve. The central living area features two open plan lounges on the ground floor, as well as a library and a TV room on the open-air second level. A large deck provides the perfect setting for the ultimate dining experience, or a moment to soak in the African sun.
The entertainment area consists of a sizeable deck, a large infinity pool, an open-air bar and a dining area. A boma provides ambience, and a lovely outdoor braai area. The thatched house is double volume and boasts a grand entrance, spacious open plan kitchen, two open plan lounges, a TV lounge with DSTV, a library, and a dining area on the deck. WiFi is available, ensuring that guests remain connected with the outside world. Each room is named after an African bird, beautifully decorated and fitted with a ceiling fan and an air-conditioner. The Camp is serviced daily. With a constant focus on sustainability, the Camp is proudly eco-friendly, being completely solar powered.
Two guided game drives are offered daily, scheduled at the guests’ leisure. Guides provide insight into the workings of the bushveld, the traits of the animals seen on the drive and the diverse terrain and plant life, varying from flat planes to rocky outcrops and hilly landscapes. The Klaserie Drift Safari Camps are home to a wide variety of predators, including lion, leopard, smaller cats, spotted hyenas, jackals and wild dogs. As such, the thrill of witnessing a kill looms around every corner. Buffalo, rhino, hippo, giraffe, elephant, a variety of buck, an array of birdlife, baboons, monkeys and mongooses can be spotted daily – to name but a few.
